Liga Sagres: Sporting Clube de Portugal 3-2 Sport Lisboa e Benfica

The victory smiled to Sporting on last weekend derby. A well organized team, made one of the best games of the season against Benfica, and at the end they really deserved to get the 3 points. Now the first place is a bit more difficult to reach but above everything if our Club still want to be champion, the team must be already concentrated in the next game. There are not many games to play, but we can for sure benefit from the points the other opponents may eventually loose.

José Antonio Reyes Calderon (1983-09-01)

The spanish Antonio Reyes was born in Utrera a place located 37 minutes distance from Sevilla, in the year of 1983.

Reyes played since young kid for Sevilla FC (1994–99), until he had the chance to play definitely with the principal team.

This left winger stood making a fantastic job in Sevilla FC, scoring 22 goals in 86 appearances, before being transferred to the United Kingdom by an amazing amount of money to Arsenal FC.

The versatile forward arrived to the Gunners in the beginning of 2004 and in February was already playing. Although he had played in near 70 games his performance wasn’t the best. The adaptation to the new country wasn’t easy although the family stood near him.

The Champions League season 2005-06 was amazing for Arsenal FC and Reyes had the chance to show his qualities.

On the last days of the summer transfers Arsenal FC and Real Madrid CF agreed on exchanging Reyes for Julio Baptista on a loan deal. Good performances among the “galatics” called the attentions of the city rivals and Club Atlético de Madrid signed him, but the good days were far way.

Now Reyes is getting another opportunity to make the fans sing his name.

Will he psychological strong? We “reds” do think so.
